Last weekend we were invited by Aubaine,London to review their new Prix Fixe Menu and Summer Cocktails. Aubaine is one of the most stylish restaurants in London and I say stylish because they are not only located in the most beautiful parts of London but also the restaurants are so tastefully decorated that the entire experience of dining at Aubaine extends beyond the delicious food they serve.
We decided to visit the Mayfair restaurant which is very easily accessible by tubes and is a short walk if you get to Greenpark. It is located just a few yards off the main road which makes it ideal as you can choose to sit outside too and not feel too busy.
I decided to go for the Champagne and strawberries and Lee went for the Amalfi Coast G&T which were both excellent cocktails and really beautifully presented. They have an excellent choice of cocktails that seemed perfect for a hot summer day some of which I cannot wait to try on our next visit.
As I am a vegetarian I went for the ‘Soup of the day’ which was a cold ‘Tomato and Basil’ soup served with delicious bread. I was surprised that I actually loved the cold soup because normally it is not something I would go for.
Lee had ordered the ‘Octopus Carpaccio’ which looked beautiful and he said was one of the most delicious Octopus dishes he’s ever had.
Being a vegetarian I have often felt unsatisfied at French restaurants but when my order of ‘Red Pepper and Basil Risotto’ arrived I was truly amazed at how delicious, creamy and well presented the dish was. I loved my main course and even said to Lee that it was the best risotto I’ve ever had and I’ve tried a lot of vegetarian risottos haha.
Lee had ordered ‘Sirloin’ which is a 6 oz sirloin steak that is served with fries, green peppercorn sauce which was again a very delicious (as per Lee).
As we sipped our second round of cocktails we made the difficult decision of picking our puddings from the ever so tempting menu. At this point Ella woke up to join us for the meal haha, couldn’t have asked for a better timing. Our puddings were delightful and irresistible. I highly recommend the Strawberry and Pistachio Tart although the others were equally good and just perfect for a summer Brunch.
In my view every restaurant is made special by three things, the ambience, food and the service and Aubaine, Mayfair was the perfect blend of the three. We had very attentive hosts and servers and we felt very warmly welcomed and loved our dining experience so much that we would love to visit again very soon 🙂
Thanks you Aubaine for having us and treating us to a wonderful and scrumptious meal, cannot recommend the place enough.
