All You Need To Know About Winter & Party Dressing

Hi Guys,

So I thought because it is Christmas and the season of parties and glamour I should bring you something very exciting. I have interviewed Billie Bhatia, Fashion Writer at ELLE UK in association with the Swindon Designer Outlet about the key fashion trends this season. So without further ado here’s some interesting things you’ll definitely enjoy reading..

  1. What (if any) in your view is the colour of the season? Millennial Pink has pretty much dominated the last season.

Red was easily the colour of the season, with every shade possible dominating the catwalks from bright pillar box red through to burgundy, cherry and crimson. Powerful, sexy, feminine and punchy – you can embrace the colour of the season in a big (whole look)  or a small (just an accessory) way.

2.What fabric is a top scorer for the party season, Sequin or Velvet or any others?

Sequins! It’s glamour, glamour glamour this season. And add some feathers for good measure.

3. Keeping the party season in mind, what is overdressing for both Men and Women?🙂

I don’t really believe in overdressing, because when it comes to the party season your clothes should be a celebration. If you are worried about being OTT at an event then you can easily pair down an outfit by layering a roll neck underneath your slip dress, or opting for party flats instead of a heeled shoe.

4.What is a go to outer wear as per the season’s fashion trend- Faux fur, Leather Jackets, Trench, Classic Coats?

The trench coat has really made a comeback for AW17 and through many incarnations: oversized, classic, coloured, patterned and even deconstructed in some cases. It’s a really easy and useful classic to add to your wardrobe and wear either casually or for a more dressed up occasion.

  1. If you had to give one styling tip to men and women what would that be?

Invest in good quality knitwear. Whether that be a fine knit roll neck or a big chunky cashmere, you will only have to buy these once every few years if you invest in the quality, and it won’t bobble after just a couple of wears.

Hope you enjoyed reading as much as I did, have an amazing Christmas!
