I tried twirling in this dress to show you how forgiving it is, no matter how many cakes you’ve had or coffees you’ve drunk, it will still compliment you, that’s how generous it is! Under normal circumstances, I don’t suppose this dress would provoke more than a silent gratitude for the dressmaker, but this summer has been everything but normal, for the world, and for it’s people. And that made me think about generosity.
If you can be one thing for me, be GENEROUS, with your SMILE, there is no other form of human expression that more powerfully communicates positivity and happiness, and unhappiness can be tiring, the way the world is slowly getting soaked in war and fear, we need more smiles, not just to lift our spirits up but our souls and ideals that are slowly shrinking, drenched in sadness and solitude. If you can be one thing for yourself, be GENEROUS, with COMPLIMENTS, because when you pay one you get something back almost instantly, you get a smile and a thank-you, you get a sense of happiness that radiates through your face and makes you look beautiful. If you can be one thing for the world, be GENEROUS, with FORGIVENESS and LOVE, because so many of us are holding back when so many people need it more than ever, share love generously, give relentlessly and create memories that live with you and with us, warm and illuminating memories that we can pull up and wrap around us on days that are dark and dull.Be generous, because there is only one today and only one ‘now’ and when ‘now’ slowly dissolves into yesterday, you want to look back at yourself with pride at how beautifully you painted your little side of the world.
